Yorkshire have announced the signing of West Indies allrounder Dominic Drakes as a short-term replacement for Shadab Khan, who is set to return to Pakistan for international duty.
Drakes, who was a member of Gujarat Titans’ at the IPL has joined the county for Yorkshire’s next four T20 Blast matches.
“I’m really excited to get going with Yorkshire as I’ve always wanted to experience county cricket,” said the 24-year-old.
Yorkshire’s managing director of cricket, Darren Gough, added: “He’s a very talented young player having just arrived from the IPL where he was part of the winning Gujarat Titans squad.
“As a left-arm bowler and a destructive left-handed batter he offers another great option for our squad.”
Drakes is likely to make his debut on Friday against Durham at Headingley.
