Keaton Jennings to lead Lancashire, following Dane Vilas’ resignation

Keaton Jennings has been named as the new men’s captain of Lancashire Cricket, as Dane Vilas has decided to stand down from the role he held for the last four seasons.

Jennings, who has also extended his contract with Lancashire Cricket for one more year until the end of 2025, is now the 37th men’s captain of the Red Rose.

Since joining Lancashire from Durham in 2018, the 30-year-old has made 131 appearances in all three formats. Last season, he stepped in as captain of the One-Day Cup side in Vilas’ absence, leading the team to the final.

Jennings’ exceptional form resulted in his recall to England’s Test match squad for the tour of Pakistan, having previously played 17 Test matches between 2016 and 2019.
