Adam Wheater has announced he will hang up his boots on his 14-year career at the climax of the summer.
The 32-year-old has confirmed his intention to retire from professional cricket.
Wheater, who is in the midst of his second spell at Chelmsford, has scored 10,876 runs while completing 450 dismissals in 380 appearances across the formats.
Essex County Cricket Club can today announce that wicket-keeper batter, Adam Wheater, is set to retire from professional cricket at the end of the 2022 season.
