West Indies Test captain Kraigg Brathwaite has joined Gloucestershire for this season’s LV= Insurance County Championship.
The 28-year-old will be available for the opening eight fixtures.
“I truly look forward to the opportunity to represent Gloucestershire,” the Barbadian said. “I have always enjoyed county cricket and cherished the times I’ve been able to play in England. I’m excited to come to Bristol and do my best for the team, the Club and of course the Gloucestershire supporters.”
Brathwaite, who made his Test debut at the age of 18 – has averaged 32.24 over 68 matches with over 4000 runs.
He has previously had stints with Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire and Glamorgan in the County Championship.
The county season is slated to begin on April 8.
